Prof. Solomon Teferra

Solomon Teferra is Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, Adds Ababa University (AAU) in Ethiopia. He is currently Chair of Department of Psychiatry at AAU. He held visiting scientist position at Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health Department of Epidemiology from 2016-2020.

He is engaged in clinical work, teaching and research. He has conducted epidemiologic research on psychosis, alcohol and drugs, development and adaptation of measurement tools, clinical trials, and service development for SRDs in Ethiopia. He is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Neuropsychiatric Genetics of African Populations-Psychosis (NeuroGAP-P), Ethiopia project, the largest human genetics research done in Ethiopia thus far. Genetics in Africa, DepGen Africa’. And Co-PI on the SCOPE project.
